Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, where your driver-guide welcomes you and assists with your luggage. Travel inland toward Pinnawala to see elephants bathing and moving through the river area, then continue to Dambulla or Habarana for your first overnight stay.

This day can be adjusted around your flight arrival time, with a relaxed evening after the drive.

Begin the morning with Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka's most iconic ancient landmarks. Continue to the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple to see its wall murals and sacred cave shrines, then travel through Matale with time for a spice garden visit.

Arrive in Kandy, Sri Lanka's hill capital, where you can enjoy a traditional cultural show in the evening.

Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and take in Kandy's cultural atmosphere before climbing into the central highlands. The road to Nuwara Eliya passes tea estates, cool mountain air, flower gardens, and waterfall viewpoints.

Spend the evening in Nuwara Eliya, known for its colonial-era character and highland scenery.

Wake to misty mountain scenery and set out for Horton Plains National Park, one of Sri Lanka's most dramatic upland landscapes. After the walk, continue through tea country toward Haputale, with time to pause for a warm cup of tea and views across the hills.

Later, travel on to Ella for an overnight stay surrounded by mountain scenery.

Explore Ella in the morning, with the option to walk Little Adam's Peak for wide views across Ella Gap. Continue south toward Tissamaharama, a gateway town for Yala National Park.

In the afternoon, take a jeep safari into Yala National Park, where wildlife sightings may include elephants, leopards, deer, crocodiles, and rich birdlife.

Leave safari country and follow the southern route toward Tangalle and Kalametiya. Visit the Kalametiya lagoon and bird sanctuary area, known for coastal wetlands, birdlife, and quiet natural scenery.

Continue to Galle for your overnight stay, with time to settle near the coast.

After breakfast, drive north toward Colombo. Depending on your departure time, visit the National Museum, explore key city landmarks, or stop for shopping at Colombo's malls and boutiques.

Your driver then transfers you to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
